Independence Day

Spaceships of a mysterious alien force appear over the major cities of Earth and threaten the entire planet, creating worldwide panic. The aliens start by obliterating New York and most of the East Coast, with the aim of total annihilation over the Fourth of July weekend. Will Smith, Bill Pullman (as the President) and Jeff Goldblum help fight back against great odds.
